Natural world, namely the non-human aspects of the physical universe, has the components of biosphere, natural environment and nature. In general, when referred to the natural environment which surrounds us in different forms like the earth, sun, stars, forests, geographical formations, microorganisms, animals, plants, and many more, it is described as the Earth’s environment that encompasses anything not man made and / or that has not been changed substantially by humans. The natural forms, on the other hand, have originated on their own, having survived for centuries. Furthermore, natural world includes natural elements in various forms ranging from organism to space spanning across natural habitats, solar system, animal and plant kingdom. Understanding the natural world entails the comprehension on biodiversity, habitat whether large or small, adaptation of species, complex web of interactions, interdependence. Amid these interactions, chaos ensues, and for humans to cope, succeed and thrive, making sense of the mass of elements we are pummeled with in the natural world entails organization and mission of taxonomy.
Simply put, the natural world is sometimes referred to Earth before humans started to interfere with and dominate the planet. The unique processes and phenomena, exposed to evolution through the evolutionary processes of creation, are evident in the changing of seasons, process of photosynthesis, reproductive processes providing new life, being the parts of complex natural world. What has been designed into nature and life is actually diversity observed in the sustenance of life that relies on the complex natural world and its reciprocal interactional constituents. However, it is apparent that the natural world has been shrinking due to the increasing demand of humans challenge the Earth’s capability to provide for the future. Humanity has done an impact, and yet, humanity can also have the power to help undo it, which is a crucial aspect in valuing the natural world, so varied and vast as our greatest asset beyond physical ones with less intangibility in the form of a unique gift in terms of beauty, spirituality and art.
